how to preroute all the traffice from 443 to 8443

Splunk is running as non root user in our environment. we want to preroute all the traffic from port 443 to port 8443.

How to proceed with iptables and what are the policy needs to add in iptable?

For Redhat the following commands are doing it:

/sbin/iptables -t nat -I PREROUTING -p tcp --destination-port 443 -j REDIRECT --to-ports 8443
/etc/init.d/iptables save

  • did yo check the ip tables with iptables -vL
  • what is the error you get
  • can you connect to port 8443
