User with new role cannot login [404: page not found]

i have a user, say 'user1' with role 'role1' and i have been using this user for long time.

now for an other party i created a new role 'role2' with same permissions, but different 'restrict search terms'. then a new user 'user2'

when i login with this new user 'user2', it says "page not found". if i assign the old role 'role1' to 'user2', then i am able to login for user2.

the default app for both the users is a custom one. this app have read permissions for all roles (write permission only for admin role)

what is that i might be missing with 'role2' ? its been a long time checking through enough possibilities.

i figured it out. i had to give read permissions for the 'role2' in 'search and reporting' app as well (regardless of the actual app for access)
