Reporting

Save reports in shared folders

Hallo Splunk community,

I have a report environment with many different reports.

Now I want to push those generated Reports as files(.csv) to a networkshare or filesystem of another server. And its not only one share, I have reportgroups that should be seperated in differnent shares.

Whats the best way to do this ?

Regards

Ray

Decide on a naming convention for your files (e.g. "MySillyFiles-YYYY-MM-DD.csv"). Setup a cron job on your Search Head to look for files in $SPLUNK_HOME/var/run/splunk/ and transfer them to your share (deleting them afterwards). Then setup a saved search to generate the files and end it with | outputcsv.

Forgive me if I'm being thick, but I do not understand how I get my report output to save there with a naming convention.

You are going to have to write some kind of transfer script so you can name it the same in every search and have the script change the name or you can write with runtime-based convention as explained here:
