My saved search names get truncated in the menu. Can I change the max length before they get truncated?

When a saved search has more than about 50 characters, the names get truncated and you get a "..." injected in the middle.

Sometimes I can rewrite the name, or find a way to put it inside a <collection> tag so as to be less verbose.
However sometimes I just want to raise that truncation limit from 50 to like 70.
In many cases I actually need the long name, for instance to display in the UI when the saved search is actually run. So i often end up just accepting the truncation of the search name in the menu even though it looks bad and effects usability there.

Is there any way to do this? To raise the truncation limit?

As a side note, when you're only say one character over the limit, splunk will actually replace that one characters with the three character sequence "...", which is a bit silly.

As of version 4.1, the truncation threshold is globally fixed within the menu system and cannot be easily customized. An enhancement has been filed on this (SPL-31098).
