Reporting

Can I write or configure a scheduled search so it cannot be run manually by any user?

Hello,

I've unsuccessfully searched for an answer to this question: Can I write a scheduled report in such a way that it cannot be run manually?

Basically, the scheduled report is generating (and overwriting) a lookup file on an expected regular basis. If anyone manually clicks on the report to run it, it throws off the logic of what the data in the lookup file means. To prevent accidental (manual) runs, the scheduled report is set to private, but, if there's a simple way to add more protection against accidental runs, that would be great!

Any advise is welcome.

If users don't see the report they cannt run it!
Make report privare or accessible only to administrators.

If you want to allow to some users to see the report result, you can create a Dashboard that shows results.

Bye.
