What is the best way to learn Splunk from somebody with mainframe background?

I have a strong experience with mainframe development and would like to learn Splunk.
I wonder what kind of minimum knowledge is required to successfully learn and use the product.

Thanks

Hi mate

I suggest that you read this book. It will give you a good basic understanding of Splunk.

Mainframe or not, see this recent Splunk Answers posting about the best way to learn Splunk as a motivated newbie. It is full of great resources and advice.
