At Splunk, we believe that true innovation is inclusive innovation. That's why we're excited to pull back the curtain and introduce you to our new quarterly "Inside Splunk Accessibility" series. We’ll share the critical role accessibility plays in Splunk product development and update you on  our current initiatives.

Meet the team 

At the heart of Splunk's commitment to inclusivity is our dedicated Accessibility Team. This passionate group comprises a diverse set of experts, including:

• Program managers who steer our strategic initiatives 
• Skilled engineers who build accessible features
• Meticulous testers who ensure our products meet the highest standards 
• Accessibility designers who champion inclusive user experiences from the ground up. 

Each member brings deep domain knowledge in accessibility, assistive technologies, and guidelines like the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). 

How we work

We don't operate in a silo; instead, we work cross-functionally across virtually all Splunk products and every digital touchpoint available to our customers, from our core platform and public websites to documentation and presentations. 

We’re involved at every stage of the product lifecycle—from initial research and design conceptualization to engineering implementation and final product release—ensuring that accessibility is woven into the very fabric of Splunk products from the start.

Our guiding principles 

Splunk is committed to maintaining and enhancing its products' accessibility for all users, including those with diverse abilities who require the use of assistive technologies:

• We include accessibility as part of our mission statement
• We address accessibility throughout our internal policies
• We provide continual accessibility training resources for our staff
• We employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods

At Splunk, we leverage the best practices and standards from the following internationally recognized accessibility regulations:

• W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG 2.2 Level AA, to the extent possible
• Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act
• The EU’s EN 301 549 Accessibility Requirements as amended
