What are the pros / cons of running Splunk on a pure core chip setup vs hyper-threaded cores?

It used to be that Splunk, overall, performed better while running on pure cores vs on hyper-threaded cores, but perhaps that has changed.

Wondering if anyone can provide some knowledge and/or experiences to shed some light on this topic.
