How to get started Monitoring Certificates in Splunk?

I am new to splunk

Could you please help me get started on how to monitor the certificates on the servers that are in monitoring in Splunk?

I know this is old but in case someone else comes up on this thread Certificat-expiry is a pretty easy to use app addin for Splunk that can monitor SSL certs.  Still looking for a solution for SQL certs.
