Can you please guide how to configure Otel-agent so it reports istio App traces to SPLUNK APM ?

Hello Team,

I have deployed Istio based Application on Kubernetes. And I want to monitor the same in Splunk APM. The application has side cars injected and is accessible from browser.
I am using Bookinfo Demo Application available on istio : https://istio.io/latest/docs/setup/getting-started/

Can you please guide how to configure Otel-agent so it reports istio App traces to SPLUNK APM ?
Is Istio-mixer -adapter required (it shows deprecated in documentation)
