Does the summary index data expire?

Do we have an expiration on summary indexed data, if yes how long we can keep that data and where can we find this detail in conf files.

You can set that in the indexes.conf file where you defined the summary index.
By default, the timelimit is 6 years.
Here is the setting:

frozenTimePeriodInSecs = <nonnegative integer>
    * Number of seconds after which indexed data rolls to frozen.
