i am using splunk enterprise version 6.5.3 , error in calling rest api through advance rest client

Hello please give any suggestion . i am using splunk enterprise, version 6.5.3 on window 7 . i am trying to login ( http://localhost:8089/services/auth/login) with credentials username:admin and password:12345678 with the help of advance rest client . but every time it shows error e.g The requested URL can't be reached

The service might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. but i have logged in to splunk enterprise on my local machine.. i have not found any solution on google i googled a lot... i tried everything like change url 8089 to 8000 etc... or change localhost to my ip address etc..but not able to call splunk rest api

Second, use HTTPS.

Using HTTP against an HTTPS endpoint will be your bigger problem.
