Will there be any issue when upgrading splunk from 6.6.2 to 7.1.3?

I see that it pretty straightforward procedure to upgrade from 6.6 version to the next 6. versions. My question is should I follow the same steps when upgrading from 6.6. versions to 7. versions or should any extra precautions should be taken?
