Why did splunk enterpise setup wizard end prematurely?

when I am running setup than it is showing message as follows:

splunk enterprise setup wizard ended prematurely because of an error, your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, run setup wizard again. Click the finish button to exit the setup wizard.

I have fixed my problem by checking if Windows Installer is running.

Hi @Himanshu ,

Can you enable msiexec.exe logging like so:

msiexec /l*vx msiexec.log /i splunk.msi

And then once the installation has failed, search for "return value 3" in the log file, and what happened just prior to that is the problem.

Please feel free to come back with a log snippet if it's not self-explanatory.

check the installation file architecture & the windows os architecture. They both might not be same. 

for example: you might have downloaded win_x86 ( 32-bit ) and trying to install on win_x86_64.
