Trying to use Wget to download Splunk Enterprise on Ubuntu vm and is timing out

I've created an Ubuntu 20.04 server vm in Virtual Box. I'm trying to download Splunk Enterprise using the wget command, but it keeps timing out. I keep seeing "Connecting to download.splunk.com... 443... failed: Connection timed out." Anyone have any idea why it keeps happening and how to get the install to work?

I'm able to ping and have network connectivity. Thanks for any help.

It can also be an internet connectivity issue on the machine.

Hi @splunknewbe,

probably you did it in a busy moment, download the instalaltion package on your workstation and upload it in the VM from your workstation, in this way you'll probbaly not have problems.

Ciao.
