Problems installing Splunk on Mac

I have tried installing Splunk on Mac via the tar.gz and dog methods (the latter both using the graphical and command line options) however I cannot get over this issue, which stops me starting Splunk.

I get the error message:

error "2013-12-16 11:09:18.311 osascript[9337:507] Error loading /Library/ScriptingAdditions/Adobe Unit Types.osax/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Unit Types: dlopen(/Library/ScriptingAdditions/Adobe Unit Types.osax/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Unit Types, 262): no suitable image found. Did find:
/Library/ScriptingAdditions/Adobe Unit Types.osax/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Unit Types: no matching architecture in universal wrapper
osascript: OpenScripting.framework - scripting addition \"/Library/ScriptingAdditions/Adobe Unit Types.osax\" declares no loadable handlers.
709:713: syntax error: Expected end of line, etc. but found identifier. (-2741)"

Can anyone advise possible remedies please?
