Can't login after install

I just downloaded and installed splunk enterprise. When the window pops up to run the application, I entered my Username and Password (correctly) and it doesn't work. This isn't actually the first time I've tried it. It hasn't worked any of the times I've tried doing this. I also tried using "Admin" as Username and "password." I need to be able to login for this boot camp. Please help.

when you install splunk the wizard guides you through all the steps neccessary to run splunk properly. There you also set your initial Splunk admin password.

The Username is: admin
The Password is: <whateveryouchoose>

After the installation you are able to access splunk via your browser.
Use the following URL: http://localhost:8000 or https://localhost:8000

This should work fine.
