rest_ta encrypt password in custom responsehandlers/auth handlers

We need to use the rest_ta to pull data from some apps. I noticed if we used a custom auth handler and place the username/password "Custom Authentication Handler Arguments" and hit save the password is in plane text. Is there a way to encrypt it so when other admins look in the rest inputs they cant see the password in plane text?
