Kind of frustrating Server 2016 has been out so long and not even a UF for it yet...
We have to wait for 6.6 and see if they support it there
Any update? I dont want to open a ticket for this!
Still no mention of Server 2016 in requirements/release notes despite 6.5.2 now being available. We really need some input from Splunk on this question please.
My support contact says that I should look in Release Notes for the next major release. No promises though.
Any updates anyone?

any update on this?

Here is the Splunk Doc about system requirements. Windows Server 2016 isn't on it yet.
At the bottom of the doc, though, you can provide comments and they might get back to you about when 2016 will be available.
this UF download page, does not list Windows Server 2016 yet.
http://www.splunk.com/en_us/download/universal-forwarder.html
for 32-bit - Windows 8, 8.1, and 10
for 64-bit - Windows 8, 8.1, and 10 Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012, and 2012 R2
maybe, just try to install it.. it may install without any issues.
As said on other posts here, some not supported windows OS are getting installed fine
Thank you but I need to know if it is a supported configuration..
as per the UF downloads page, its currently not supported.
also the wiki says
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Server_2016
windows server 2016 became generally available on October 12, 2016, that is just less than a month back !
Hi nicocin.
To be sure, open a Case to Splunk in your Partner Portal!

Unfortunately I can't open cases.
Isn't there any documentation about compatibility?
