What is the best way to configure splunk to ingest data received from 3rd party WebHook alert actions?

Hi,
I am new to configuring splunk to receive "webhook" posts and index them.
I have an application that generates "webhook" alert actions and I want it to POST data to splunk for indexing.
I am unsure how to configure "receive a webhook" or post... would I just use a listening port or http-event-collector or is there an app?
Any information to get me started would be appreciated.
