Splunk Heavy Forwarder vs. PCF Firehose tile

Hi,
I am currently trying to decide which path to take in order to resolve a log delay issue that I am experiencing. I was wondering if anyone could give me the pros and cons of each:

Option 1: Install a Splunk Forwarder on our PCF instance to feed logs to Splunk.
Option 2: Install the Cloud Foundry Splunk Tile

I know both of these should resolve my log delay issue regardless of which path I take. I was just curious as to any issues, concerns or major benefits one may provide over the other. Thanks in advance!
