I have install splunk forwarder , but the splunk enterprise can't detect it

I have install splunk forwarder , but the splunk enterprise can't detect it.
Both machine on the same subnet. I use IP.

Did you check if both servers (deployment server and Forwarder) can talked to each other on port 8089? firewall is not blocking communication?

Please check on the forwarder in /splunkforwarder/var/log/splunk/splunkd.log

if you see any entries of the forwarder trying to talk to your deployment server.

I have checked the log. The forwarder kept trying to connect to port 9997 but not 8089
