How can I make the UF downloadable from the search head ?

I support hundreds of users and UF installations, only a few of which have converted to using our deployment server.
I'd like to make it easier for all of them (deployment clients and non) to install/update the UF by making it downloadable from the search head.
Is this function supported natively ?
If not, do you have any pointers on creating a search head app that includes a downloadable file component ?

This is not supported but there is (was?) an app and also a crazy blog post about how to upgrade forwarders from DS.

Hi,
Universal Forwarding installation or upgrade it's possible only manully or using a software distribution System or, on Unix Systems, remote Shell scripts.
Until now there isn't other solutions.
About apps, I suggest to fully use a Deployment server to have a Central management and a forwardes monitoring.

That's not my question: I want to know if I can make the installer downloadable from the search head.

Once a user downloads the installer from the search head, they can install it however and whenever they like.
