Can't find "local" dir under /opt/splunk/etc/apps/search

Hello,

I was trying to set a new lookup table, and locate props.conf and transforms.conf, but wasn't able to find the local dir under /opt/splunk/etc/apps/search .

Should I simply create one ?

Thanks.

Yes. From my experience, Splunk doesn't always create the local directories. You have to create them and any files in that directory yourself. Splunk will look there prior to looking at the default configs. Just make sure you create everything in the proper directory according to the Docs and change extensions on files correctly.
