Issue in uninstalling/upgrading the universal forwarder with version 6.x, 7.x, 9.0.x and 9.1.x

When we tried to upgrade the Splunk Universal Forwarder from windows servers we are getting error stating "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable", But Windows installer package is running fine on the server. Also we tried to uninstall the package, still the error is same. When we tried to repair the same, it still pointing to the same error.

As it's not allowing us to neither uninstall or upgrade the package, can you please help us to fix this issue?

Hi @Gayatri

Maybe you have already checked this, but it seems to me that some resource of your UF is installed or mapped to a network drive on the server that is not functioning.

Can you paste here the last lines of your splunkd.log after an attempt to upgrade your UF?

@Gayatri

What is the operating system version of the Windows servers where the issue is occurring?

From which Splunk version to which version are you upgrading?

How are you attempting to upgrade or uninstall the Universal Forwarder?

Did this help? If yes, please consider giving kudos, marking it as the solution, or commenting for clarification — your feedback keeps the community going!
