Deployment Architecture

serverclass.conf repositoryLocation multiple apps

We would like to configure serverclass.conf with multiple repository locations for each serverclass.

Can this be done? If so, what's the proper syntax?

We're trying this, but it doesn't seem to be working.

Where myapp1 lives in: /opt/splunk/etc/deployment-apps/division1/department1/myapp1

   [serverClass:myserverclass1]
   repositoryLocation = /opt/splunk/etc/deployment-apps/division1/department1
   [serverClass:myserverclass1:app:myapp1]

Got it working. The path is fine and only needs to be on the deployment server in serverclass.conf. We had also put a path in deploymentclient.conf and this is not necessary for what we need.

Very interesting b/c I'm used to -

[serverClass:]
whitelist of servers

[serverClass::app:]
restartSplunkWeb = 0
restartSplunkd = 1
stateOnClient = enabled

[serverClass:app_name:app:location under /opt/splunk/etc/deployment-apps]
restartSplunkWeb = 0
restartSplunkd = 1
stateOnClient = enabled

What problems/error do you see with you current configuration? Hope you're restarted OR reloaded the deployment server after change.
