move aged data to lower tier indexers

Path Finder

I have my primary splunk indexers on performance storage.
I have indexers on lower tier storage as well. (not in the same physical site)
I would like the primary indexer to move data to the lower tier storage after the configured age of data. is this possible? if so how?

thanks

If you're trying to map the colddb path to a networked server with lower tier storage, then I think you're out of luck. If you did get it to work, and the network path went down, then Splunk would not start.

It is possible to move the cold buckets to a network location, but the cold path would still be local.
