can Master Node and Peer node be on same System?
Can we have Master Node and Peer Node on same one system, and other system just peer node>?
Or in other words can Master node index data?

Important: The master cannot do double duty as a peer node or a search head, and it cannot reside on the same machine as a peer node or search head.

Strangely enough though, when I set up my test servers with a requirement for 2 search heads, but only actually registered one, it shows TWO search heads, the one I registered, and the master node.
