Deployment Architecture

deployment client not unpack and not create the directory

duongl2
Explorer

I also have this in serverclass.conf
targetRepositoryLocation = $SPLUNK_HOME\etc\apps
tmpFolder = $SPLUNK_HOME\var\run\tmp

After the bundle file is downloaded the deployment client is not unpack the app and and create the required directory structure under /opt/splunk/etc/apps/.

Please advise, is that something to do with username and permission?

thanks

How do you know it is not working? If you are inside the directly when the update is to happen, DC renames your directory to something else (because it cannot delete/replace it) and creates a new directory for the unpacking. In this case, you are constantly doing ls and waiting for something to show up that never will because you are in the wrong place.
