Why is my defined "cliLoginBanner" banner not working?

I have a brand new instance of Splunk Enterprise. I have modifed system/local/server.conf and added the cliLoginBanner directive. However, my defined banner text is not showing up upon login.

Not sure how to trouble shoot this one.

The cliLoginBanner only show when you login/provide credentials when using Splunk CLI, not Splunk web. For customize Splunk Web's login page, you can use following attribute in the system/local/web.conf under [settings] stanza. See this for more information

   * Add custom content to the login page
   * Supports any text including html
