Hi,

Yes it is supported. As per https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/6.4.4/Installation/Systemrequirements#Unix_operating_sy... , UF 6.4.4 supports Kernel 2.6 and later & Kernel 3.x and later .

I'll suggest to go ahead with new version of Universal Forwarder, if it is compatible with your Indexer(For compatibility between UF and Indexer, have a look at here ). As per https://www.splunk.com/en_us/legal/splunk-software-support-policy.html , 6.4.x is out of support now.
