Is it possible to increase the replication and search factor in an indexer cluster? How will this impact our environment?

Hi,

We're going to change a RF=1 and SF=1 to higher values in an indexer clustering environment. Is this possible? and what is the impact of this? I know we will require more storage, but not sure of the impact on the overall cluster...

Could anyone please give more details, hints, tips,...etc for this scenario.

Thanks in advance,,,

Possible: Yes.

Impact: increasing RF and SF would cause lot of bucket activities on the indexers as the cluster master will be preparing additional replicated bucket copies and searchable copies. The indexers will be busy during that time and you'd see impact on search and indexing performance.
