Good day! Could you say, please, how many hours/days are approximatelly required to deploy Splunk solution for IIot (for example, with 100 nodes)?

Hi @zintrok,
could you share any additional info?
when you speak of 100 nodes, are you meaning concentrators, devices or what else?
when you speck of Splunk solutions, are you speaking of Splunk Universal Forwarders, Technical Add-on or what else?
What's your architecture?

Ciao.

I need a rough estimate for at least two types of devices (let it be 95 devices with 5 concentrators). I am interested in Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Add-on for OPC, Search and Reporting App, Splunk Machine Learning Toolkit.
What about architecture, I need several forwaders, one indexer and one search head.

I heard about rapid deployment of Splunk solution, but, unfortunatelly, I did't find any specific information about it. Does it take hours/days/weeks?

Hi @zintrok,
few days if you have with a good level of design of your architecture and a good knowledge of the data flows; more days if the Splunk specialist must discover everething by himself!
In other words, if the Splunk specialist has a detailed draw of architecture and flows, he/she needs probably not more than 2-3 days; instead he/she needs 5 or 10 or more if he/she must study, design and configure.

Remember that 70% of the a Splunk job is knowing what to do and only 30% of work is doing it on Splunk!

@gcusello is absolutely correct on what he says (70% knowing and 30% doing): it just depends on your knowledge of the environment. I have done this kind of solution in less than half a day, but that was with a customer who knew about their environment and was ready.

I would suggest you work with your Splunk rep and he will pull in the necessary resources to scope out the timeline. One of the biggest advantages of Splunk is how easy and quick it is to get going and have data flowing in. This applies to IIoT as well as IT.
