Deployment of app with changes CSS, JS or PNG doesn't restart

Hi guys,

we are running a splunk enterprise infrastructure with heavy forwarder, search head and index cluster on version 6.3.3.

we have some apps using simple xml with some png files in the static and some js and css in the appserver/static folder.
If we make changes on either png, js and/or css and deploy the changed apps into our search head cluster the systems are not restarted and the change is not visible in the UI.

Is this a known problem?

Thank you and regards.

Yes, unfortunately Splunk Web has to be restarted on the search heads to pickup the new files in the appserver/static folder.

Try splunk restart splunkweb
