Splunk 6.0 redirect to new tab when clicking on result

In Splunk Enterprise v5.0.4, when I used to click on the result a new tab used to open. But now in v6.0 when I click on the result the new search populates in the same window. How do I change it back so that when I click on the result from the query, a new tab be open?

Adding target="_blank" as in the example below works fine in Splunk Enterprise Version 8.0.1(and supposedly later versions too).

<nav>
   <a href="*yoururlhere*" target="_blank">Monitoring</a>
</nav>

Update : This doesn't work in older versions prior to v7.2.x.

Confirmed - on a Mac using firefox, the new window works from within a dashboard panel (based on pivot) but not from within search (based on pivot).

To open in a new tab when drilling down from a dashboard or pivot, you can use command/ctrl + click. This isn't supported in the search page yet.

This issue exists in latest version 6.0.3 as well. It does work fine from custom dashboard but not from Search interface.

I've tried this in firefox and chrome, neither have a right click -> new tab. Control + click does not work either.

This is a pretty major setback from a usability stand point.

What browser are you using? The behavior did change from 5.0 to 6.0 to no longer default to opening a new tab.

Hi dlamas_splunk,

I tried the ctrl+click and that did not work. In previous version I didn't have to click ctrl though.
