HI,

Recently, we create a dashboard to show search result under splunk dashboard (e.g. A) by admin user

we would like to create a user account without admin right and able to read the dashboard only.

Please advise.

Thanks

Create a new role if needed , assign required capability to the role. Then assign read rights to this role for your dashboard by clicking on Editing Permission link. Following page has more information.

@cyberportnoc, Splunk has a built in role called Users. While creating the new User you can assign him/her with User role.

Then follow the steps for Editing permission from documentation: https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/latest/Viz/DashboardPermissions

You should grant Edit permission to Admin ( and Power user based on your use case). You can grant Read access to User (or Everyone - all roles based on your use case).

Please reach out to your Splunk Admin for any assistance with these steps. Let us know if you get stuck somewhere.
