Modifying Splunk> Logo after login in header in 9.x ~

My customer would like to either remove the logo in the red box area of the image or replace it with their company logo.
I have tried several times following the instructions in the link below, but it didn’t work.

Could you let me know if there is a way to accomplish this?

Try modify 

 $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/search/appserver/static/appLogo.png
 $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/search/appserver/static/appLogo.gif
