How to drilldown to download a file ?

I have a dashboard in a table format with a column called KML where I want a drilldown to download the file from the local splunk server. The file name will be provided as a parameter and the file location will be set in the drilldown link. Need help to accomplish that

I am using simple xml and trying to add a link with a local path to the file to be downloaded but didn't work

<link target="_blank">file:///home/data/kml/test.kml</link>

Any suggestion ?
