In version 4.0 I was able to have more than 3 columns in dashboard.html template.

How could I do the same in version 4.1?

example:

<view template="dashboard.html" onunloadCancelJobs="True">
  <label>Minutebuyer</label>
  <module name="ServerSideInclude" layoutPanel="panel_row1_col1">
      <param name="src">left.html</param>
  </module>
  <module name="ServerSideInclude" layoutPanel="panel_row1_col2">
      <param name="src">header.html</param>
  </module>
  <module name="ServerSideInclude" layoutPanel="panel_row1_col3">
      <param name="src">right.html</param>
  </module>
  <module name="ServerSideInclude" layoutPanel="panel_row1_col4">
      <param name="src">logout.html</param>
  </module>
</view>

This is a known issue in 4.1:

If you specify more than the 3-column maximum for layoutPanel, the error message is not very helpful. (SPL-29295)

It will be resolved in a maintenance release.

You can have more than 3 columns by adding and incrementing _grp instead of _col. All will appear in the same box onscreen, but you will be able to have multiple items in a box.

For example, to create five items across, use xml similar to this:

<module1 layoutPanel="panel_row1_col1_grp1">
 ...
</module1>
<module2 layoutPanel="panel_row1_col1_grp2">
 ...
</module2>
<module3 layoutPanel="panel_row1_col1_grp3">
 ...
</module3>
<module4 layoutPanel="panel_row1_col1_grp4">
 ...
</module4>
<module5 layoutPanel="panel_row1_col1_grp5">
 ...
</module5>

the question was why there can't be more than 3; this was apparently possible in an earlier version.
