Hi
use something like this

        <row>
           <panel>
              <html>
                 <h3>
                    <b>
                       <img src="/static/app/your_app/your_image.png" style="height:50px;border:0;"/>
                    </b>
                  </h3>
               </html>
           </panel>
        </row>

if in addition, you want also to insert an active link, use

        <row>
           <panel>
              <html>
                 <h3>
                    <a href="http://your_link">
                       <b>
                          <img src="/static/app/your_app/your_image.png" style="height:50px;border:0;"/>
                       </b>
                    </a>
                  </h3>
               </html>
           </panel>
        </row>

There is a html tag available on the XML dashboards.

http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/6.0/Viz/PanelreferenceforSimplifiedXML#html

You should be able to add a static image with the tag.
