Is there a way to disable mouseover (hover) functionality for an areachart?

My situation is I use custom visualization in one of my other charts and I am syncing data between this custom chart and areachart.

Custom chart to areachart sync works but other way around it doesn't as built-in areachart hover effect affects my solution.
