Splunk upgrade 6.3 > 6.6 missing icons

Very similar to https://answers.splunk.com/answers/312247/after-upgrading-a-search-head-cluster-to-splunk-63-1.html?...

After upgrade all the allIcons on the menu on the right are broken. I have checked that the appIcon.png files exist and have the correct permissions.

I have checked the user permissions and have "rest_properties_get" set (not sure if I need this.)

Had a look at the Cookie.py file but the match is completely different than the one shown in 6.3.

Primarily use Chrome, yes I have force refreshed page and tried alt broswer.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

David.

Thought I would answer this for anyone looking - it was the nginx reverse proxy.

As soon as I turned off

{splunkhome}/etc/system/local/web.conf

tools.proxy.on = False

Splunk started working after a restart.
