APM421 - Monitoring with Artificial Intelligence

Instructor-led Training
4 Topics
6 Labs
Course duration: 4 hours

APM421 introduces you to AppDynamics AI-powered Anomaly Detection and Automated Transaction Diagnostics features in cSaaS controllers. It provides instructions on how to use these features, understand their differences and use cases, thereby enabling an exponential improvement of key performance indicators such as MTTI and MTTR for enterprise teams.

This course is available for Premium University users. To view and register for this, check out AppDynamics University and search for the code APM421.

What you’ll learn

  • You will learn to use two APM features - Anomaly Detection and Automated Transaction Diagnostics - available in cSaaS controllers that apply Artificial Intelligence(AI) to monitor and diagnose performance issues in applications. The course will provide an overview of AppDynamics AI services that drive automatic detection of abnormal behavior in application performance.
  •  For the Anomaly Detection feature, you will gain an understanding of how custom AI services build Machine Learning models for Business Transactions (BT), detect anomalous behavior in BT metrics,  generate alerts, and surface suspected root cause(s) for applications. You will learn how to enable and configure this feature for applications, review anomaly events, and evaluate suspected causes identified by the Automated Root Cause Analysis (RCA) service. You will also learn how actions and policies can be configured to automate responses to anomaly events.
  • For the Automated Transaction Diagnostics (ATD) feature, you will acquire knowledge on how custom AI services ingest large amounts of metric and snapshot data to detect performance issues and analyze top cause(s) for BT performance issues. You will learn how to access this feature for a BT and how to investigate transaction snapshots and contextual insights provided for each of the suspected causes.
  • The course also provides a comprehensive summary of the distinction between these two features as well as how they compare to Health Rules in AppDynamics APM platform.
