splunk_app_db_connect 3.10.0- Do we have to rename all dots in inputs to a dash?

Hi to all, after upgrading from version 3.8 to version 3.10.0 we had to rename all input name containing a . (dot) or a - (dash), otherwise they were not working. Someone knows if this is a normal behavior? It took long time to understand the issue expecially because in dbx log nothing was written. Please check this issue and in case update documentation in Splunk DOC.
