Would a service hosted at that domain ever redirect the request to another domain that does not match .api.splkmobile.com?
The MINT SDK can send data through HEC, in which case it will not match that hostname rule, but you would need to manually set that option when you initialize the SDK. Otherwise by default data will route to .api.splkmobile.com.
