Why are we getting "Socket error from 127.0.0.1 while accessing...Broken pipe" when configuring Splunk DB Connect 2 for an Oracle database?

Trying to connect Splunk DB connect 2 thru web, but I'm getting a connection error while setting identities though with same credentials (including host, id, password, etc),able to login thru database. I'm able to ping the host from the console where we are configuring app.

In addition, the Splunkd.log has shown this socket error as below...

10-01-2015 18:43:28.688 -0400 WARN HttpListener - Socket error from 127.0.0.1 while accessing /servicesNS/admin/-/db_connect/explore/qcmixgp: Broken pipe
10-01-2015 18:43:30.835 -0400 WARN HttpListener - Socket error from 127.0.0.1 while accessing /servicesNS/admin/-/db_connect/explore/qcmixgp: Broken pipe

One more question: We ed to know what needs to be given in the place of "Default Database"? Tried the given Database name and left it blank too, but it didn't work.

Please help us in resolving this issue.

Hello,
try to recreate your db inputs.

I have done this and now collect events again.

Cheers,
Valerio Quarta.

when your browser tries to open the explore page for the "qcmixgp" entry, it's told no. That sounds like a permissions problem?
