Why am I unable to configure the Splunk App for AWS with error "This app requires the Splunk Add-on for Amazon Web Services..."?

I followed the instructions for downloading and installing the Splunk App for AWS into Splunk Enterprise. Everything appeared to go correctly. Now when I navigate to the Configure portion of the Splunk app, as directed. I receive this error message.

"This app requires the Splunk Add-on for Amazon Web Services, but it is not installed on this server. Please install the add-on or contact an administrator"

I have verified that the Add-on is indeed installed on the server. What am I missing? Please advise.

Hello,

There is a splunk app for AWS and then there is a splunk add-on for AWS. Did you setup both? The error is stating that you're missing your add-on. Please follow the documentation and install splunk add-on for AWS so you can pull data from AWS. The app contains visualizations, searches, and reports... the add-on contains inputs / code to pull data from AWS.
