When using the Splunk App for AWS, why are we not able to access dashboard searches from shared URL?

Hello,

The issue we are having is as follows: if our Splunk admin is looking at our topology dashboard and sharing a URL with settings to show one VPC, the link when opened by another user will open to the default AWS topology dashboard. I noticed this while looking into this:

  • If I look at one instance in the topology and copy its URL to share
  • Then switch to another VPC.
  • Then open a new tab and paste the copied URL into it, it will load the VPC I switched to in the previous tab and not the URL.

So I want to know what is causing this? Is it related to caching ? This issue came up when an admin was sharing URLs of AWS topology dashboards and people couldn't find what he was talking about in the dashboard.
