All Apps and Add-ons

What versions of Linux can Splunk App for Unix and Linux support?

Hello everyone,

I apologize in advance for such a basic question, but I can't find a list in the documentation of the app for supported OS's. Basically, I just need to know before I install this if App for *nix can take data from Red Hat and AIX. I saw AIX in the description of the app, but I cant find any info on if it runs with Red Hat. If anyone can point me to the proper documentation to find this, or to an alternative app, I'd be grateful.

Thank you.

in the documentation, i see this:
For installation of the Splunk App for Unix and Linux, on search heads: Linux, any version that Splunk supports.
For installation of the Splunk Add-on for Unix and Linux, on universal forwarders: All versions of *nix listed in the Unix operating systems section of the core Splunk platform's "System requirements" topic
https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/UnixApp/5.2.2/User/Platformandhardwarerequirements#Official_su...
