Hello,
We're standing up Splunk HF on AWS via EC2. With a 50GB/day ingest, what's the lowest vCPU/RAM we can configure, and would scaling it up later affect functionality?
Thanks!
Hi @Bart_S,
if your HF hasn't an high load requirement, you can use the standard hardware reference for stand alone Splunk servers: 12 CPUs, 12 GB RAM and 50 GB disk.
for more infos see at https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/9.0.1/Capacity/Referencehardware.
Then you can monitor your HF to see if there's some queue or peak that requires more resources.
Ciao.
Giuseppe

Hey @gcusello, thanks for the information! We'll have to try that out and scale as needed.
Hi @Bart_S,
good for you, see next time!
Ciao and happy splunking
Giuseppe
P.S.: Karma Points are appreciated 😉
